“I enjoyed the first two years when there was no emotional drama—just fun, and the performances you heard were the same as what was shown on TV. Now, what you see on TV is all doctored; it’s all fake.”
Uncomfortable with Show Direction
Sunidhi revealed that she left the shows because she was uncomfortable with the direction they were taking. She was directed to promote contestants regardless of their actual performance, which she found troubling. The singer of “Kamli” also disclosed that the storylines shown on these shows were fabricated and didn’t reflect reality.
Payment Issues with Famous Songs
Besides criticizing reality shows, Sunidhi shared that she hasn’t been paid for many famous songs. Despite giving hit Bollywood films like “Desi Girl,” she still faces challenges getting paid for her work.
“They ask for money, and I choose not to take it because I don’t think I need money for this song. In some cases, I want to help, so I quote my price and sing. You don’t want to hurt anyone’s ego because not everyone thinks like you do. They may not even understand how you feel,”

Now 40, Sunidhi has judged several singing reality shows, including “Dil Hai Hindustani” Season 2, “The Voice,” and “Indian Idol” Seasons 5 and 6. According to a report by Tele Chakkar, she stopped working as a judge after 2018.
