Karuna and Jija Bai’s Suspicion
Karuna asks Jija Bai if the medicine was fake as it is not having any effect. Jija Bai agrees, saying that Bhim must have done something with the milkman as he is smiling. She says that if he had arranged something with the milkman, then they would have lost.
Students’ Pain Intensifies
Since the medicine is not working, Karuna asks Jija Bai if it was a fake. Jija Bai concurs, stating that since Bhim is smiling, he must have done something with the milkman. She says that they would have lost if he had made arrangements with the milkman.
Students’ Pain Intensifies
The students do not give their stomach hurts much thought until they start experiencing them. After a while, they begin to scream because it is hurting so much. When the person tells Bhim that his stomach hurts a lot, he asks as to what happened.
Karuna and Jija Bai begin to smile. The officials observe that every student is experiencing the same discomfort. He tells Bhim that it hurts a lot and tells him not to worry because nothing bad will happen. Ramji rushes to assist a fellow student who is in terrible discomfort as well. Bhim becomes nervous, wondering what to do next.
Accusations and Suggestions
Jija Bai is informed by Karuna that the medicine is working. It is the officials’ fault that they appear to be experiencing a stomachache. Khulkarani proposes that everyone should be let down by the officials. Meghnath clarifies that they should to stop it if that is the case.
Request for More Time
When Bhim asks for more time, the official responds that Bhim should to have taught them how to give more convincing justifications. According to Ramji, it’s the upper class people’s plan.
Jija Bai responds that their intention is to bring education into disgrace. The students refuse to take the exam when Bhim and Ramji ask them to, claiming that they are in terrible discomfort.
Bhim asks the officer if the test can be given the following day. According to Khulkarani, they have just two hours to get medicine from the store and then ask students to take the test. Meghnath agrees, stating that the reason they have gathered here is that there are only two hours left.
Students’ Resolve
Bhim asks the students not to worry because they will bring medicine and then take the exam. They are in terrible discomfort, so Shamla and Shishupal rush out of the chawl to bring the medication.
Shobha is unable to handle the pain, or can the other students. Bhim, Rama, and Ramji are making every effort to assure the students that everything will be alright and to not give up.
The officer gets angry and declares they are leaving when the person tells Bhim they cannot accomplish this. After stopping them, Bhim informs the students that they are all fighting for the same cause.
While Chachi said that he had to fight for appreciation because he did not receive it, Kaka said that he had never experienced hardship in his life. The woman remembers saying this and explains that she feels like she has accomplished something significant by learning here.
Bhim’s Encouragement
Bhim clarifies that the other uncle belongs to a lower social class and that he will stay the same all of his life if he doesn’t pass this test. They are having a lot of stomach pain, but Shobha tells Bhim that they still want to pass this test.
Bhim says that in order to get rid of all such thoughts from their lives, they must bring together all the suffering they have experienced in this life and put an end to the danger they sense in their hearts. This is what they have to do today.
Rama claims that Shobha intended to tell her husband about this and that she intends to live this way forever. According to Bhim, they will either succeed or fail, and if that’s the case, he has no idea what will occur later on.
However, he is aware that they won’t be able to remain standing before the mirror. They only have two choices, according to Bhim: success or fear.
Given that they are about to lose, Phulia asks what these elderly people will decide. Phulia receives a warning from Shobha to stop saying that they will take the exam and are not going to lose. Shobha slowly stands up, approaches the wall, and takes out a piece of cloth along with a few other items.
Students’ Determination
Meghnath responds that they are all used to acting serious when the officer inquires about what she is doing. In response, Rama says that’s how you win. After throwing the cloth pieces to each person, Shobha ties them around their hips. According to Shobha, each person should tie it around their waist to represent their fear of losing their abilities. Jija Bai and Karuna become angry.
Each student begins to tie the cloth around their own waist. Bhim and other supporters begin cheering the students. Meghnath is not the only officer concerned; Khulkarani and other officers are as well.
The students promise to complete the exam and then get back up to begin it again. Both Khulkarani and Meghnath are extremely concerned. Meghnath is told by the officer what would happen if they were to lose to Bhim Rao once more. Meghnath responds, “Is it really that simple for them to win?”
Final Moments
Bhima observes that everyone is putting their all into the exam. Shishupal is informed by Shamala that they must leave right away because others will suffer. However, someone claims that after tying a cloth around their waist, they are all taking the exam. Then an upper-class person appears and declares that they will all fail. Shamla tells him to look around since the outcome will be visible.
She explains that although this street was once bustling with people, it is now deserted as they have all gone to the chawl to wait for the outcome. When Shamla asks as to whether it would be more appropriate for those who do not consider members of the lower class to be human beings to go to their chawl and learn about the outcome, the person remains unmoved. Shamla is not giving up.
